How To Remove Comodo Enhanced Protection Mode Virus – Virus Removal

Comodo Enhanced Protection Mode Virus is a malicious virus infecting computer users who are running Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems with Comodo antivirus software. The virus knows that you are running Comodo, takes over Comodo and uses a similar looking icon to make you feel that Comodo is still functioning normally.

This virus has been infecting computer users through a fake Adobe Flash update. There may be other distribution channels however. It is highly recommended that you do not update Adobe Flash unless the update is coming directly from Adobe corporation. Specifically, the social website Facebook has become a popular distribution channel for this virus. Users have reported that they were infected with Comodo Enhanced Protection Mode Virus after attempting to download a video on Facebook.

This virus is extremely clever. It recognizes that you are using Comodo and will cloak itself by mimicking the Comodo appearance. This is so you will still feel comfortable that your Comodo virus protection still is ok. However, your computer is under attack in the background.

When windows launches you will see a beige window stating that the “release date of the databases” is current. The time and date on the window matches the exact date and time you logged in, proving that it is a charade and not real. This is another deceptive tactic aimed at reassuring computer users that everything is fine with their computer.
